Hmmm, they must have found the right trim later down the line then, all my cars have 5 mm thick quarterlight glass.

Mines definitely 4mm. In fact 3.89mm.

I guess charlie must have given me a rubber for a 5mm float instead of a 4mm. Explains why it pissed in then.

It was collecting round the seal, overflowing, then running inside. Used plenty of sealant but it never worked out right. So glad I have gone down the opening quarters route now as it definitely cured that major headache of mine....which ended up shafting my carpet with damp. Having to bond the glass in was also something I wanted to avoid.

Window opener. hinge, showing an original and one I cut down and redrilled.

Perspex glass template. Note the drilled holes (x3) to suit the window holder buttons.

Hinges fixed in. Only 1 screw each, as per original use.

Window opener in position. You can adjust the closed position of the glass (ie how much it presses against the rubber) by shimming the back of the triangular base with washers.

Here you go Stuart.

Ignore the rain spots, the birdshit and the masking tape under the rubber (to stop the trim pulling back)
