fixing the headlights

can anybody point me in the right direction for headlight fixing cheap as possible as i have been credit crunched thanks

I recall that these Cibie headlights were also used by a Daihatsu offroader. Perhaps you can find one on the breakers yard.

Not sure about Daihatsu, but Suzuki SJ's have 7 inch headlamps wonder if they fit the glass looks a bit deep.

Why not just buy a pair of lucas 7 inch sealed units without sidelight. They only cost a few quid at the local factors. About 8 quid or so I think. Can't see the point in spending lots of money on lamps. I dont even have the spots any more. I'd rather keep my engine cooler. Who drives at night? LOL.

i have alredy got the headlights i just need the brackets to hold them in place

The original fitment are 'Morette' rings

Which appear to be rather hard to find........

I can't see why something like >>this<< couldn't be made to fit.

One hint would be to replace any mild steel adjusters with stainless where possible, the headlamp area is a water trap and anything that can rust will.

Dunno if this is helpful, but another vehicle which uses round 7" headlamps is the Land Rover Defender (and its predecessors, back to the 50s).

There are a lot of companies who sell Land Rover spares, and if those lamp shells could be made to fit, you CAN get plastic ones. Any attached fittings will usually NOT be stainless, though.

That's something I'd thought of for my gold having got them on the Rangey because Wipac quadroptics are freely available. The mountings would require a bit of work to make them fit though because they are a bit chunky.
