Hi All,
I just went on a bit of a tour of brum to pick up two sets of MGF leather seats for my cars and one of the chaps I dealt with has a pair of cream leather seats for sale at £40 for the pair the passenger side is good but the drivers needs some work as it's worn. You can get replacement trim off ebay for £49 a section. The guy is just outside walsall and has an ebay shop GTMGTF.
Right best I go unload my 9 seat range rover :-p
Cheers,
Mike

I've just acquired a nice pair of MGF seats and would welcome any handy hints for installing them. A steering wheel was included in the deal, but I don't think I'll be bothering with that...

Hi all,
Thanks for the offer

A good trip every now and then clears the clag out of the Rangey or it least the old girl always runs better after a run.
Fitting them is a breeze I used the original runners with some modification. The runners have some rivetted spoon shaped brackets on the front I drilled out the rivets and removed the brackets the rivet holes can be used for the mounting bolts. Much the same at the back of the runners one of the brackets can be removed by drilling out the rivets and the other is rivetted and seam welded so just drilled out the rivets and ground off the weld. They fit nicely if a little tight to the door pillar.
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks Mike. Did you fit them with the recliner wheels to the inside or outside?

Yup spot on they are in the middle I don't think you could get to them very easily at the side plus it will even out the bolster wear on the seats. I've had them in the convertible for a while and they are great.
cheers,
Mike

Mike,
Did you bolt your MGF seats straight to the floor or space them up a bit?

Mine are bolted pretty much straight to the floor, I have some thinish aluminium shims just to allow a bit of space for the runners to move. The lack of spacers is because I tend to find the head clearance a little low for me in a Coupe at times so i wanted them as low as possible. On the convertible I have spacers made of box section though i may lower them a bit too.
Cheers,
mike
