If you're interested you have to negotiate the shipping costs since they are mentioned as Germany only shipment:

looks a reasonable price to me. v3 is better though.

I am thinking of buying something else suitable for ignition and injection since everyone is too focussed on Megajolt and Megasquirt. Plenty of companies supplying ECU's that can be used on any car. I decided not to bid on a Gotech MFI pro unit that went for just 98 pounds including wire loom. I might regret that later, but I downloaded the manual and I found the info a bit too basic for getting it all to work. But there are other companies like Link, Adaptronic, Omex and Emerald as alternative ECU suppliers.
In general they all do the same. Ignition won't be the problem, but injection requires a bit more work. I talked to my engine tuner and we have decided to use an SPI unit on an MG inlet manifold (which I bought previously). This will give good flow and the SPI throttle and injection box can be bolted on with a simple adaptor plate. I already have the fuel pump and pressure regulator in my car from the turbo, so in theory getting injection with a 4 wire lambda probe feedback should be straight forward.

Hans,
I will follow your project of using the SPI unit with interest.
Do you intend to use the SPI unit that was used for the Mini?

Yes, I think it was used until 1996 when it was replaced with the mpi. The mpi is better because it has more torque in the low revs. But both suffer from terrible inlet castings. The aluminium MG Metro inlet manifold is one of the best and -according my tuner- is a simple way to mount the spi. I won't win any bhp with this, but with the proper ECU it is possible to adjust the fuel flow that suits the tuned engine without the need of enless dynotuning to find the correct SU needle. My engine tuner is already taking the next step and building a custom made inlet manifold for mpi.

I have something like this in mind:

Wet manifold single point injection. Interesting project with a gain of 20% in power and still good fuel consumption, now I need to find a cheap computer and sort out the parts. The surge tank is something I hadn't thought about.

I am bidding on computers for a injection/ignition setup but have not been succesful. Too bad I hadn't bought that Gotech for just 95 pounds, yesterday I was after a Haltech computer but it went for 450 euro! A bit too expensive for me. Also older Omex and Emerald units are still worth a lot of money. I would go for a Megasquirt, but these fetch 250 euro easily.
Anyway in my quest I had a chat with a knowledgeable man who sent me this link:
http://www.jenvey.co.uk/home/individual ... -sfxx-45-2
This is the TB used on the Midget. It seems it's not possible for a 90bhp engine to have just 1 injector, this throttle body has 2. According to Dave Walker who does this sort of setups (see the link in my previous message) you need 2 x 250cc injectors for max. 90hp and 330cc for up to 120hp and 440 for up to 150hp. I saw on a forum a link for free software to calculate which nozzle is needed depending on engine capacity, bhp, single or mutiple injectors, fuel pressure etc.
The problem with the 5 port engine with fuel injection is that cylinder 1 and 4 get very lean while 2 and 3 get too rich. Obviously the way to go is the 7 port, but what I've seen now is that with the wet manifold setup the 5 port works as well. Enough power, easily adjustable and no lean running cylinders.

I understand that the A series megasquirt guys have the 5 port injection worked out now with special siamese code. Yes you do need 2 injectors, as well as 2 O2 sensors too.....to take into account the leaning out of the cylinders due to charge robbing from the neighbouring cylinder.......

Might be worth you checking out the notes on the turbominis.co.uk forum.

Happily as I only have cross flow heads now I dont have these 5 port headaches.....

ATpower make an SU replacement injector. I dont know the price though.

Just read a bunch of info on the problem with the siamese ports. Especially the mpi with 2 injectors is difficult to program because of the charge robbing by the inner cylinders. Interesting stuff. But with TBi it's just a wet manifold system, imitating a carb. For me that's more than enough, I don't need more than 90bhp. Also the setup will be easier, therefore I intend to go the route of Dave Walker. It seems the single injector of the spi is not enough for 90 bhp, but I have to discuss this with my engine tuner. Pity because that Jenvy throttle body will make it all much more expensive. Maybe I can find a cheap alternative.

I was a bit shocked about the costs to get a Jenvey throttle body with double injectors working. I got an overview from Emerald of the Dave Walker setup, when all is newly bought it's 2000 pounds plus.
But it seems there is a cheap solution which was suggested by my engine tuner. He directed me to this link:
http://www.canems.co.uk/casestudy/1380inj.php
He has a similar setup on one of his cars and uses it as a sort of SPI system. He doesn't have a camshaft sensor which is necessary for mpi, but according to him if the intake is long enough, the double setup of the Honda Firestorm throttle bodies can be used as a spi system/wet manifold. I found a few of those tbi's on Ebay, it should be possible to buy a complete set for less than 100 euro's. I've now put up my turbo HIF44 carburettor and other turbo stuff for sale, so maybe I can do a straight financial swap again. I need it because programmable EFI computer prices are still off the scale whatever brand you choose. so a lot of money will go into the electronic brain.
