How to make your Midas go faster and up to date. Very nice. £1.5k built up cylinder head, or £3k complete with throttle bodies and engine management system.

That's substantially more than my car is worth! I was a bit dubious about the cooling, but apparently it performs well on the dyno

Its all relative. Probably a pretty fair price really for something thats produced on a small run.

Thats the cost for a brand new piece of kit, not something second hand thats been through about 10 hands before its been machined up and your also getting a complete bolt on kit with ECU etc.

The first power run was only done last week, so its not even had a chance to mature so its doing very well.

Being made of Ally I'm not surprised the cooling is good. WIll be good to do as a turbo/sc I bet too. ;)

120hp doesn't sound a lot really considering, it would be interesting to hear what Vizard thinks of the head design, those combustion chambers look very shrouded to me.

Its a lot more interesting than a full race 5 port with all the driveability that brings, whilst using a pretty tame fast road cam......and the torque figure is better too.

Head is done on billet using a 5 axis mill.

Yes I've fallen into the trap of only looking at the horse power figure

It is getting close to the magic 100hp per litre figure.

You mention it being all new, do they use a brand-new block too?

;)

I have heard some time ago from the horses mouths that a couple of companies have alloy blocks up their sleeves. Ones cast and the other's billet.

One of the companies did work making a historic aston martin alloy block so they know what they are doing.......

They are just sitting on the fence waiting for the A series block price to appreciate to a specific value as they are becoming rarer by the day. the top end BDA's are basically an alloy based kent block though I supposed.

Light as f@@k.
