Sigh, I'm still searching, no more 165/60 available, so I think about the 175/50's Matthias has on his convertible, don't know if it's the best solution, but he don't mentioned anything bad about them...

I think Falken was the last one that did a 165/60, but they make a 165/65 now. Don't know if it will fit. But 175/50 is no problem getting. Still available from Dunlop, Fulda and Continental for about 60 euro's each.

i'd imagine it will be pretty close. does the TUV have a tolerance factor?

...readed in a forum something about 4%, but the last owner said he changed the last gear so the speedo isn't right at all...is it possilble to adjust the metro-speedo?

You will need to find out what the two speedo gears (They are colour coded matching set) are in the gearbox and find out what the final drive is. They are colour coded.

The mini forums are useful for letting you know which speedo gears match your final drive (crownwheel).

Can you use an electronic dash?....probably not i guess.

Mine is electronic and is exact (checked with GPS), as I was able to programme it for all the gears and final drive ratio, matched to the tyre size. Also I can actually use the GPS to use for speed as an option.

Hm, I will see what happens and check the new ones then with a GPS-system, when the difference is not that much...will it go more forward with the 175/50's? Or did it show less?

Your speedo is calibrated for revolutions per meter. If you use tires with a smaller circumference the distance per revolution will be smaller, so your speedo will show a higher speed than in reality. If you use bigger tyres the speedo will show a lower speed than real. With my convertible I calculated my real speed my driving f.e. 100km/h on the speedo, than count hectometer poles along the road for 1 kilometer and measure the time needed to cover this distance. That time was converted to a km/h figure and compared to my speedo. On my coupees they were exaggerating by at least 10%, but on my Convertible it is showing a too low speed. I have changed the speedo drive wheel in the gearbox, but still it is too far off. With the available gears and pinions it will be difficult to get it spot on anyway.

A miracle happend, found some NEW 165/60 R13 75T on ebay from Hankook, called Optima K715 ... think about using them, get good tests by the ADAC, price is also ok and match my documents ...
seems not to be really a sports-tyre and the old owner told me he uses H's because the coupe goes around 205km/H, but I'm far away from a racer, s the T's should be ok for me.

But even if I take them, I also go for get the 175/50's in my car-documents, better to have options...
