Does anyone else get this? I've worn two nearside front tyres down to the legal limit whilst the offside tyres see about half the wear. The wear is even across the tread and the tracking is fine.

Any ideas?

I had this on an old subframe once. Tracking was right and everything. Clue was in the steering slight pull to one side.

Changed it for a new one and it was fine.

Basically the old one was bent. Occupational hazard in a kit car, using parts from unknown origin.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure the frame isn't damaged as I've had it down to bare metal, there's no steering pull either though I suspect my castor angles need setting properly as it's a bit like a shopping trolley over the bumps.

What's the position of the subframe in relation to the car? I never experienced your problem, but my first Midas coupe had the front subframe slightly angled on the car which was visible by the distance between the anti roll bar and the front bumper. On my present car, the convertible, I noted that the subframe is off center. I discovered this when I made small mudflaps that only worked on one side of the car. One wheel is sticking out more than the other, a difference of about 5 mm.

I'll have a measure up once I've got it back on all four wheels.

I changed from my summer tyres 175/60 13 to winter tyres at 155/70 13 !!, yes we do strange things up in the frozen north,
but to my surprise I experienced that the car wanted to steer left ( ever so little ).
After a full four wheel alignment test it turned out to be a negative castor angle on my left front causing this. Old tyres
shows no chafing or uneven wear at all.
Hans, you wrote that there was an angle of the subframe, was it damaged?
If someone have a clever idea what to do, like moving upper suspension arm back somehow, it would be appreciated.

No, it has to do with bad jig drilling. If you look at the subframe in relation to the body, you'll see it's not perfectly perpendicular. I have a similar problem on my blue convertible. I made mudflaps from small strips of rubber, but then found out the left wheel is sticking out more than the right one. The subframe is perpendicular, but a little off center. I intend to rectify this when I replace the subframe with a new one I recently bought. There is a thread on this forum that discussed the possibilities to rectify such an error (seems to be common on the Midas cars also because of badly built subframes) with adjustable arms. It is known that they exist for the Metro racing series, but I have never found pictures or any other info about them.

I should have updated this one earlier. My car needed new suspension rubbers on the ends of the antiroll bar. No problems now.

It is good that I´m not alone with this, but still irritating.
The strange thing though, I find, is that it was less felt when I was on the bigger summer tyres.
Quite contrary to all my experience, and I´ve had a few cars.
