Had a quick play in photoshop just now, after seeing a yellow coupe with k series / flip up headlights, i thought what would a midas look like with no front lights and a bigger bonnet to allow easy engine removal?
Well heres my results from a very very quick ten minute play around;

What do you guys think? I'd really love to do this obviously need some driving lights but just bigger bonnet / easy access sounds good to me!

And where will be the headlights then? Even pop up lights will take space. Or will it look like this:

By the way the old chap in the background is Mike Perkins. He owns the yellow Cortez and built the yellow Gold coupe with 1.1 K-series engine.

Well you only really need them for night time and an mot... haha. Obviously it would need a pop up light system, of which i havent photoshoped the cut lines into. hell you could mount them under the bonnet and have the bonnet pop up, theres a lot of possibilities...

Just saying that i thought it looked rather swish being so smooth / without lights.

And Hans that photo of that midas...doesnt look too pretty!

Just to have you shown that if you don't have the lights 100% right you'll destroy the look of the car. I know an orange Bronze with the lights bolted on, also not the best looking. I have to look that one up since I can't find the pic at the moment. Probably on my old computer

That thing is hideous...each to your own and all but boggle eyes ?!

I guess flip up mx5 lights would suit the midas?
