Hi!
I bought my Cortez nearly 2 years ago and previous owner had already bought new one-button-key-fob for car, but it still didn’t work every time. So, last year I changed master central door lock mechanism and it worked better for some time, but still not always.

Re: Mk1 001 FNT349V
Autumn and end of 2019 went on rebuilding garage and left-over spare time on Cortez. So, Mk1 was on hold.
I wanted to start 2020 with Midas and thought to take Cortez for a drive on first of January. Dead battery cancelled that trip, so instead I drove with my 107 to garage to potter with Mk1 ...

Re: Mk1 001 FNT349V
Thank you, benofbrum. I don’t have much hope on this window heater either :) But as my Mini has no heating system, then even this holy tube could be better.
I also want to thank forum member, who wrote and posted picture of his neat and tidy solution of heating controls on his Mk2 Midas ...

Re: Mk1 001 FNT349V
In beginning of June, I managed to spend some time in garage.
Radiator.
As radiator is quite rusty and I have small hopes that it’ll keep coolant, I took measures of it to see, if I could find a bit modern replacement. I remember spending lots of hours in internet searching it, but nowadays it’s ...

In May 2019, before I got my wheels and new tires back, I also manage to do a bit more.
Firstly, took off fuel tank and filler and they’ve seen better days.
Filler neck, “nice and brown”:

Re: Mk1 001 FNT349V
It is unbelievable, that it is nearly a year since my last post, so it’s about time I write down a bit of the progress.
Most importantly, Mk1 wasn’t ready for 2019 IMM, or Midas 40th gathering and not even now, but about all that a bit later.
I try to pick up, from the time of last post.

Re: Mk1 001 FNT349V
Thank you benofbrum. Your Mk1 looks in very good condition. From your information it seems that they experimented with first cars, trying different things and parts. It would be interesting to compare those first cars side by side. Glad to hear another Midas Mk1 with Mistrals and narrow tires ...

Re: Mk1 001 FNT349V
Thank you, Stuart and MrBounce, for your answers, they are very helpful.

Good afternoon!
It’s been a while since I posted on forum, but now it's time I’ll write a bit about my Midas Mk1, FNT349V. More precisely I have questions I haven’t found answers on my own.

Re: Alternative Cars Open Day and MOC Barbeque - July 9th
If someone is going to Open Day from London and have an empty seat, I would like to be co-pilot and contribute in gas money. If someone is willing to pick me up, please write personal message.
