Russell Bulgin's car built for Motor was PNV 716Y which was originally navy blue but had been painted a gun metal silver colour at one point. AC Dodd owned it for quite a while and it wound up in Scotland minus it's engine.
Adrian used to wash it less frequently than Russell clearly.

That'll be the post 1988 style connector you'll probably have either the round Rists style connector or the bullet type on the loom.

I use the stock Rover electronic system on mine which tends to be reliable if you make sure there is some good quality thermal grease between the dizzy and the ignition pack. On the Mk3 the dizzy has been given an optimised advance curve which was a great improvement over the tired original.

You can fix them reasonably simply there is a hook inside that gets bent so doesn't latch. The alternative is to get hold of a fog light switch and swap the tops.

Normally I would blank off the radiator pipe with a screw and some epoxy glue.
