Re: Q959EGV k-series mk3

Hi Joris, Had a call from Alan today to say you wanted to speak to me. Its been a while since I rebuilt the car so will have a bit of thinking to do! I found it on a farm in 2002 in a hell of a mess. There was even a chickens egg on the manifold and 2ins of water inside. I tried to steadily improve ...

I have just seen it today in the paper shop. What a bunch of ugly mugs! [just kidding]. It is a good write-up on the club and cars. Stan.

Re: Mk 3 Q705CPF

Just thought I would share my experience of getting my mr2 wheels powder coated.I had various quotes of what I considered to be too high a price, and went to the Newcastle Wheel Company with them loose in the back of the car. I had a chat with the owner and said I had always been told £50 per wheel ...

Re: front coilover conversion mk3

I did this 10yrs ago with my gold coupe. As said at the time, you cant fix to the body for the top eye-it wont be strong enough. My solution was to buy mini[?] dampers from Dampertech and fabricate a tower which bolted to the metro subframe [with the sphere mount removed] and had a mount for the top ...

Re: Mk 1 Project Zippy (Picture Heavy!)

Hi Mr bounce, Just to give you some useful info about rollering. When I built my Spyder I got my wife to paint it [but yours is out of things at the moment,I suppose!] But then Margaret is a decorator. We tried brush painting first with Purdey brushes-waste of time! the brush marks just showed thru ...

Re: Petrol tank question

I used a new metro tank when I did my K series conversion, that is the old one leaked after a while! I was in luck that my local motor shop had a new tank which had been returned,so he said I could have it at cost.As far as I can remember it fit Ok apart from the filler neck, which I had to shorten ...

Re: Alternative engine in mk1 Midas!

Hats off to both of you! Its about time someone dragged the Midas into the present, and if you can make a viable/affordable modern engine fit to a standard body [apart from the headlights],then I think you will be able to sell the kit to do it. After all,the body moulding itself is still very strong ...

Re: speedometer cable

Is it not easier just to calibrate it with a satnav? Most are more accurate than any other system!
