Unfortunately the winning bidder went base over apex down the stairs at work and broke their arm, which proved to be rather worse than first thought, so they weren't in a position to complete the deal and we decided jointly that it would be fairer to relist.

New carpet would be a good start, old one is loose, worn and ugly - seats could do with taking out and refitting (would need doing for carpet anyway, of course), turning bolts round so only heads are showing outside - door cards are OK but boring grey / beige colour ...

Strange Gearlever
My 4 speed metro-based Gold convertible has a 5 speed gear lever, which the resident ex-garageman at work is pretty sure came off a 2 litre MG Maestro - seems to be the whole lever, not just the knob...
Anyone any idea why this might be?

Is it me, or is that colour awfully reminiscent of the old Corgi model of a Mini Marcos (the one with the removable wheels, with the little locking levers that doubled as jacks)...?

My temperature guage is fine - suspect either dodgy earth on fuel tank or break / disconnect in wiring 'twixt sender and dash at present.
I tried the connection to the actual sender and that seems fine, so I suspect it'll be a happy half hour with a test lamp...
Think I'm going to have to save up ...
