Alan

MPG isn't on my mind 'at the moment'. I'm running round in a fiat cinqy something at the moment, good little car and great for work. My intention is to use my midas for everyday use though i might end up keeping something else for everyday use to keep costs down. It's been about five years since the last time my midas was on the road but in that time i'm sure my MPG was around 35 and thats with a 24 year old driving it with a lead foot!

The good thing about the 1.4's is they are quite cheap, everyone wants the 1.8 version. With the 1.4 k in mine i could get low 7 0-60 times which is pretty good. I'm aiming for low 5's this time if i can get the power down.

Here's a couple of pictures of my rear suspension setup. i went with the displacers on the back because my old avo's were shot at and i'm not flush with money on this rebuild. I should be able to alter the pressure and ride height seperatly with this setup plus it's a good talking point. I've altered the front displacers to be like mini cones so i can adjust the pressure and height independantly.

with pictures like that you will get Alan salivating! ;)

Some nice suspension mods there. I even like the side hook bonnet.

Can anyone give me an idea about mk3 rear hatch hinges? Are they specials or from a donor car?

Simon

I know David has just had a pair made in titanium.

Hi Simon,

I'm pretty sure they (the hatch hinges) are a specific item to the Midas.

Not sure about the fixing buttons though.

Do you need a pair? I have a spare pair, will need cleaning and powder coating/painting though.

main thing is they dont rust. the alloy ones are slightly lighter...but the powder coating is (putting it mildly) shit.

I'd be more than happy to powder coat some bits, one caution though is that some alloy can be difficult to get a decent finish on.

Sorry I should have said "The K-series mk3 with a fancy 5-link axle" :)
