I was under the car today, and noticed that the section of the handbrake cable connecting the two sides is resting on the top of the exhaust pipe - in fact, the pipe is pressing the cable slightly upwards. It looks like the pipe could be raised very slightly, although this would obviously reduce the already small amount of clearance between the pipe and the body.
Anyone else have this problem, or do I just move the pipe up until it's no longer in contact with the cable?

I've got a plate that protects the cable from the exhaust, looks like it's something that's meant to be there. Everything goes through without any rattling.

Hmm - does it actually touch the cable, deflecting it out of the way, or is there clearance between the plate and the cable?

I'm pretty sure there is clearance, if it stops raining I'll get underneath and have a look/take a picture tomorrow. I'm at work right now.

i can get full stainless kit handbuilt 300 quid with flexi instead of balljoint is that cheap

Alistair's and Maniflow's prices for a full system in SS (and mild steel also) are mentioned earlier in this thread, and I think you'd have difficulty finding any other suppliers for the system off the shelf. So, £300 for a full system made to measure sounds like a good price to me.

a bit of info for you i have just made up the exhaust from the rear subframe back out of a ford eescort system the silencer fits perfectly where the old one was and all in all it cost me 40 quid if anybody needs info just post here and i will talk you through it
