I read the post on fitting the monza type cap but did not want to grind or cut the body as I intend to leave it as white gelcoal. I have polished it it it has come up mint.
I have found a cap that fits in the hole perfectly. See photo. Not only is it the right size for the hole it has the right curviture of the guard and it sits the Metro Tank spout.
It is off a MGF and even the key is the same type as the ignition key so i will get a locksmith to rekey it to fit. One less key on the key ring.
I like that, but the few MGF fuel caps I've seen on eBay have the two prong fitting, and my tank filler is the type which needs a three prong cap. Does yours by any chance have three prongs, or is it just two?

Another alternative (for me, anyway) would be to buy something like this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MGF-TF-FUEL-C ... 2a29ac9d49 and try and fit it to my cap.

I suspect it might end up as another thing on the list of things to do if I did that, though...

Looks Good!

Used Photoscape to resize. Nice free photo editor for the simple stuff!

You really need the MGF filler neck as well. Quite a few of us have done this, including me

My filler neck had 3 prongs but it was so rusty that i had to replace it so it now has the Metro 2 prong filler pipe.

Thought it was time for an update.
I have been working on the front subframe fitting coil over front shocks. Hope it works as good as it looks.

I have also made a pattern for a rear louver to fit on the rear window.
I don't like the flat rear glass. It looks like someone broke the original and just replaced it with a plain piece of flat glass.
It is only cardboard but I am going to cut it out of Aluminium and have it powdercoated black.
Everyone I have showed it to so far really likes it.

Custom made radiator with inlet and outlet hoses on the same side with split tank. Gets rid of that long top hose across the front of the engine bay.
