So whats next, well for me opening rear quarter lights

Well thats my current project. Just bought some peugeot 206 rear quarter openers off ebay and I think they can be made to fit with a bit 'adjustment'

For us living in the North Pole frost appeared once again yesterday. Having installed all the electrics to get my heated windscreen in about a month ago,and pressure from my wife to move the screen from one of the beds where it had resided for 18 months or so, and having failed on multiple occasions to install the windscreen I had to call for help at a price from Autoglass, who installed it about 3 weeks ago. However since they did the job I did not get a chance to try it as it seemed spring had returned to the North East.
At the first sight of frost on the windscreen of my Bronze Decathlon which sleeps outside in winter as my Mini hibernates in the garage during winter,I went outside at 7.00 am to see if this windscreen installation would work, the other possibility being my wiring catching fire and having a bonfire on my drive.
Fortunately the windscreen melted the frost in 2 minutes to my surprise! My electric knowledge being limited to say the least.( Thanks George for the help on this side)
Having had in the past scraped all the frost, before setting off in the morning for it to be frozen again 200 yards down the road and be completely blind and praying that there is nobody in front as the only visibility is through the side window as i looked for an emergency stopping place, what a change it is to be able to see the road in winter!
I think Alan Donowho should be awarded the MIDAS FIBERGLASS CROSS, for his services to the Midas fraternity for organizing the purchase of the screens!

I'm glad its working for you! Not got round to do mine yet but Iam looking forward to seeing the results when I do.

I think your right about the Midas GRP cross for Alan too, what with that and his rear radius arm pins (with some help from Stuart too) and soon to be sorted front subframe integral coil overs for the Mk3 dragging the car into the 21st Century. I certainly think there should be a prize for the most innovative ideas implemented for the Midas.

And of course David should be awarded the Titanium Cross!

I missed out on a windscreen for my Gold last time round so would definitely cough up the cash for one if another batch are on the cards. Driving in the winter used to be lethal with my head hanging out the side window to see where I was going. The missus is adopting it so all round coilovers, heated screen, leccy windows and aircon are going in when the weather improves and I can work on it without the risk of pneumonia

Did you re-use the original screen rubber or some alternative?

I used a new screen rubber which I bought from Adrian Dodd at Stoneleigh last year that he was selling from Charlies remaining stocks. My original rubber was starting to break up around the 4 corners.However I know that George Sutherland used his original rubber with no problems. I suppose it depends on the condition of the windscreen rubber.

I've been trying to get on Baines website, found the PDF below, which is a bit vague.

I'm looking for rubber channel for the quarterlight windows, the originals are 5 mm thick with drop glass at 4 mm, if I can find the right size rubber section I might go to 4 mm quarterlights too as I need at least one new window making.

i think my old quarterlights are 4mm if you want them. I need to check with vernier. not sure about the rubber. Its what charlie gave me. I think it wasnt a good fit though as the rain pissed in.

I specified 4mm on the opening ones. Might need to 'up' the rubber size a bit as its just touching, however it has never rained in since.
