I wish I could come, but with the present state of technology it's just too far. If the overhauled engine is a success I hope to be there next year.

Hope to be there on Sunday, but probably not in the Midas, due to brake problems which I may have mentioned before...

See you all on Sunday, please say hello if you spot me. I'll be the one with the gormless looking dog.

ALTERNATOR....

Just a quickie.

Alan's alternator has packed up on the way to Stoneleigh.

If anyones got one spare and whose going to Stoneleigh tomorrow, can they take one with them and Alan can do a swap when he gets home...... he just needs some belts and braces to be able to get home.

Cheers,

David

Hi,

I've got one in the stash charges OK but does leak back when the cars left overnight but might be good enough to use?

Let me know and I'll lob it in the boot.

Cheers,

Mike

I've got a couple of good Metro alternators hanging about, I'll stick one in the boot David.

Hope Alan's alternator problems don't take too long to sort out.

I can sympathise; one of my Stoneleigh visits included having to buy, AND fit, a new LCB. Still can't remember how I managed to get the car high enough to crawl underneath it. In those days (and for that length of trip) I always carried enough tools to do the actual work, except for at least one vital item, which varied from trip to trip. On that occasion the vital item was lifting gear... :D

I didn't dig a pit, that much I remember.

Actually, it might have been at Sandown, not Stoneleigh. Used to visit them both - and Newark - on a fairly regular basis, not so many family ties then...

Good to see all the folks new and old today and a good turn out in the sunshine.

Lots of very nicely turned out cars, spurs me on to get my two finished. Lot's of nice toys on Davids motor gives me an ever longer shopping list.

Right time for a beer and contemplation of a days trimming on the Bronze tomorrow.

Cheers,

Mike
