i think the owners club need to step in and sort this problem out by making some i have gone through hell for these brackets its the main problem stopping me hitting the road and considering my car will advertise midas cars i would have thought something would have been done by now this forum has been a godsend i am having a go with some mini bowls which i am going to take step by step photos so if it works i can put a guide on here if it does not work im going to ruin a set of halogen angel eye headlights wish me luck as im getting the grinder out tomorrow

Try and avoid cutting the shell though. You will regret it later.

Sorry,I have been a bit late in seeing this post,but when I had my mk3 I manged to fit VW polo mk1 [or 2? the square boxy one] round lights,but had to shave down the metal holder to suit.From memory it worked very well,you just have to keep trying the metal surround in and taking off a bit more with the grinder.The units were 7'' and kept the looks standard.Its better than not having the car on the road and they were quite cheap at the scrappy. Nice one Stan, perfect ;) It looks like mk2 Polo are better suited than mk1 lights.

Or how about some modern looking MK1 Golf lights

im going to buy some on saturday morning i can have a stainless exhaust steel full exhaust custom built for 300 quid is that cheap
