My preferred option would be: A vertical rod attached to the top arm shocker position, transferring the load vertically to a bell-crank. The bell-crank would be pivoted at Hydra-gas mount (some how). The bell-crank would be a 90 degree one. which would transfer the suspension loads to a coilover mounted horizontally across the back of the subframe, with all loads being transferred into the subframe. A Midas with inboard suspension!

Hi Alan,

Scroll down the linked page http://www.potenza.cc/assets/s2dmain.html?http://www.potenza.cc/9c0fbd9a2e0b6d701/9c0fbd9a2e0b8c708.html, looks similar to what you described, though on a Mini frame.

It's certainly impressive, but I don't think it would work with a rear mounting exhaust unfortunately.

Hi Rich,

Yes, that is just the sort of thing I had in mind. I just cannot work out the linkage on that example, i.e. how he transfers the suspension movement to the inboard shocker. Are there any more pictures?
I also like his treatment of the bottom arm!

I'm gathering components to make this tube bender at the moment ( http://www.gottrikes.com/Tube_Bender.htm )

I have the plans, the flat pieces of steel are now getting cut and I have now received the fancy air/hydraulic ram from the USA. So if I ever get finished doing property renovations. I should be able to tackle bottom arms like that and also, things like extending the roll cage to the screen, to try and eliminate the scuttle shake!

Z cars use this type of linkage surley (and don't call me shirley) this could be a different way around the other way

looks a lot less work than

and is more adjustable axis wise

I'm liking that Johnny, I'd love to have the wherewithall to come up with something like that.
