Hi Stuart, yes I think the headliner is headed for the loft. I'm 6' tall, and just sitting upright on the floor, my hair is just touching the roof without headliner fitted!
Ignoring fitting a roll cage, I'm still pondering on what seats will fit. I think I need a pretty "thin" base as in some of the kit car seats advertised.
Someone has also suggested Lotus Elise seats, but even second hand, these do seem a bit expensive!
I understand Midas originally fitted Huntmaster seats which I presume were specially made for the Midas? Anyone got any spare ones?
What seats have you all got in yours?

My seats are leather faced Richfield jobbies, I've just been given a pair of Mk1 MX5 seats that I know will be easier on my back.

I think these type of seats will be your only option if not adding either a ramp in the floor or a bulge in the roof

Thanks for that info guys, I love those Tillet seats, but they are a touch expensive! I had'nt considered a roof bulge or floor ramp....mind a roof bulge would make the roll cage construction interesting!! It would however widen the choice of seats, and also improve forward visability, as to my mind the lower edge of windscreen/bonnet line does seem a bit high in relation to the seating position, which of course is still a bit difficult to assess, not having any seats!!

Stuart, you have a most amazing archive of photos, you've got my imagination in to overdrive, LVT pics, the seats and now this!
Mind if I was to go the roof bulge route, I think I'd have to "square" the bulges, to avoid lewd (!) comments from onlookers!!
On a more serious note, have you any interior pics of the Marcos or Midas? Looking at the Marcos pics, assuming the roll cage rear supports are straight, they appear to be mounted on the boot floor behind the wheel arches.

I thought it was time for an update! After much head scratching, I have just taken the plunge and ordered a main hoop from a small firm in Norfolk. Just a plain hoop with feet/mounting plates, but with two 'stubs' facing backwards at 45 degrees, to give me the later option of fitting support struts if required.

I'm just hoping my plans with dimensions etc. are accurate, and they do a good job, as I will look a bit silly if it does'nt fit!!!! LOL!

This is costing £98.00 which is reasonable and worth the risk, (I think??!), and the guy can supply bespoke cages to suit other requirements, i.e. fronts, diagonals etc. I can post his details if anyone is interested.

I'm still looking for seats, and current favourite is Lotus Elise, if I can find some at the right price. If I do, can I call my car a Lotus Midas GT? Sorry, could'nt resist! LOL!

Hi! Sorry for the delay, loads of excuses, snow, Christmas, more snow, even more snow, cold garage etc. Yes it was a success, and
seems to fit well. When I finally get round to fitting it, I can then measure up for the rear supports etc.

If they come out there should be a couple of pics above!
