Hi Jon, thanks for the pic. I see your kayak has become a standard accessory of your Midas?

Hans,
You've got it the wrong way round. The Midas is an accessory for the kayak. I strap it to the bottom of the kayak to help me get over the dry bits between rivers.

Thank you to one and all for your assistance with my alternator problem. We all got home safely, a 468 mile (about 780 Km) round trip for me! I seemed to miss out on the socialising on the Sunday afternoon due to fitting alternators! Sorry to to everyone if I appeared to be antisocial. But the job had to be done. The lesson learned was; if the ignition light is not on, when you first turn the key, then your alternator is not charging!!! I did about 240 miles on batterie power, for the last 90 miles or so I only had enough voltage to run the ignition! the indicators would not work, I had to use hand signals on the motorway, which must have surprised a few people as I don't think that they teach the learners hand signals any more. I managed to get within 8 miles of Stoneliegh before the car stopped completely! Thanks to George and Alberto for the pushing off the road and subsequent rescue.
Thank you to Tony Moss and other club officials for their hospitality, the marque provides a good focal point. the barbecue and tea were also very welcome! I had a very good weekend. The next event for us is the Moffat Classic Rally, I'm hoping that we get seven Midas's and Stan's Corsa Spyder for this event.
Thanks again Alan

No probs Barry. I saw you peeping under the bonnet when I was talking to someone. Next minute you were gone before I could say hello. Will probably be there next year though. Bit like going to Mecca...

My ears just pricked up. Do you know anything more about this crashed Midas?
As you may have guessed I'm still interested in a Mk 3...
