....almost complete.

Cams need lubricating before cover can be screwed down. This is done by removing a couple of cam caps (first and last), and pumping oil through the cam oil feed hole until it comes out of the other hole. Failure to do this can result in premature cam bearing wear.

I had the chance of a free swap over of the cams from some 'KAD2' 260 duration (pulling circa 110-130 bhp) to a pair of 'L14' 280 duration (130-150 bhp cams). Nice considering they cost £300 each and I need 2! The guy who swapped them though is using the 260 to turbo a moggie and the profile of the KAD2 is the same as a Cossie Turbo. Winners all round. (Cheers to a guy called Dan for pointing me in the direction on that one!).

Some latest pictures with bonnet on. As you can see, compared to a normal Midas Gold I had to extensively modify the bonnet to get it over the cam pulleys and belt. Paint job needs cutting back but it will do for now....and the bumper needs hanging on better too.

Other jobs need doing like refitting the heater, but thats just extra weight!

Kind regards,

David
