Well. the rads been removed and it's not pretty.....

I'll fit the MG metro rad tomorrow which will give me cross flow that has to be an improvement.
Looking at the job I'll have to tack pins top and bottom to retain the original mounting points and if I fit it upside down compared to the metro fit I can retain the presently fitted bottom hose whilst it looks like the Metro bottom hose will run from the Rad top back to the stat housing in a tidy manner.
I'll loose the expansion bottle pipe from the rad so will take the fill point from a presently blocked off exit I have on the thermostat housing. This means relocating the expansion bottle to the other side of the engine bay, but i recon I can just swap it to where the horn mounts, on the inner wing near the pulley.

Hopefully that makes sense

Well that's all worked just fine
Mg Metro rad fitted so now "crossflow" Mg fan fits perfectly.
I've reposition the expansion bottle and added a over ride switch just in case. Pipework was easy and test runs on both high speed dual carriageways and a crawl through the city worked out just fine with the temp sitting between 1/4 and 1/2 all the time.

Perfect for the year first club run tomorrow

Whoop bloody whoop :D
