I'm hoping for a pretty decent final finish. Sadly spare time is very limited so progress is slow.

Well I've not had chance to do anything on the Midas other than turn it over and preped a small area but I'm sooooo bored of sanding etc now


However I have started collecting more turbo parts, hopefully a new Toyota inlet manifold ( to mate with the micra one) and a small VW intercooler will be with me shortly

Just need to get this underside finished and I can move on to the fun stuff

Intercooler turned up today


The plan is to fit it at the front behind an unused cold air feed, although I'll probably enlarge it to get more air through.


It will be rotated so that the tanks are top and bottom when it does get installed to give better pipe routing


Also it will mounted further forward.

After what seems like forever the other half of the floor is ready for stone chip

Also Ive cut out the fresh air duct to a more suitable size to allow air to the inter cooler

Well that's the floor pan finished

Well the Midas is finally the right way around again



The paint has been removed from the rear beam and it fitted back on to the car, all be it temporarily as I have to fit brake and fuel lines at some point.

The galvanizing has done an excellent job there. I may well have to look into getting mine done as it makes so much sense really given these cars can last the test of time rather well by all accounts. It's excellent seeing so many people spending time and money restoring them

Yep it's like new, mind you the beam has never seen the road although I have no doubt it will stand up well.
