The time has come to admit that I just have too little technichal knowledge to drive a kitcar. All the work to this car comes down on my boyfriend now and it's getting out of hand.

The old engine of this Midas turned out to be in need ot a revision, so we removed it. A "new" engine is waiting to be installed. So the car is not in drivable condition now.

The Midas has been standing during the whole winter, without engine and without garage. Before the mold starts eating the interior I think it would be better to sell this car to someone who can properly look after it.

Midas Gold Coupe
Bouwjaar: 1989
Engine: 1.3 from an Austin Metro is included. The Metro used to be driven by an old lady (no joke) and I've bought it from the junkyard where they told me it has abou 150.000km on it.
We did a lot of work on the Midas last year, and we replaced a lot of parts, like:
Fuel Tank
Exhaust
Windscreen (heated and working!)
4 brand new Toyo tires
Seat mountings
Mirrors
Heater
Master break cylinder
A lot of the messy wiring was cleaned up
And a lot of worn out rubber parts were replaced.

The Midas does have speakers installed, but I have not fitted a radio.
The paint is a bit worn out and it has some small cracks. I personally planned to keep it this way, because I think it fits the car :)
The body is leaking, but it's not exactly clear where.
If you are seriously interested, I can send a lot of pictures.

The car has been evaluated on 8.000EUR.
I'd like to sell it for 3.000EUR, no less.
It has Dutch MOT to the 13th of October 2011.

If you are insterested, please send me a PM, or call me at +31 6 18 23 59 85.

You're so close Martine! What a pity. If it's just an engine replacment, that's a day work. Once it's finished, it only requires regular maintenance. That's cheaper on a Midas than on an Aston!

Well, we've been in the "almost there"-mood for too long now. During the restoration a lot of extra work came up, and now it's really the point where enough is enough. I just cannot ask Tom to spend more hours on this little car. He has a big project of his own waiting, and I feel guilty about asking so much of his time.
It's a pretty tough decision, but it's for the best :(

The most recent one here.
I planned to give the dash cover a new black respray to even out the ugly bits.

It's still for sale.
The price is still 3000EUR. Good value for money I'd say, since this car is really nearly finished. Besided the engine work, it still needs to have a heatshield fitted on the exhaust, it needs a new tacho cable and the seatbelts don't fully roll up anymore, so that needs to be checked as well.
