Brake master cylinder

I thought I'd rebuild my old cylinder but I can't get a kit locally. Looking at Ebay, SP7698 appears to be correct, can anyone confirm?

Depends which type you have. There are 2. AP Lockheed or Lucas. These are different, so a Lucas kit won't be any good for refurbishment of an AP Lockheed master cylinder.
Have you found the cause of the leakage?

No, this query is separate from the leakage problem. My Haynes manual implies that there is only one m/c for a post-85 car with servo.

Geoff,
Which master cylinder is it? I have a brand new Lockheed one that I could be persuaded to part with if that would be easier.

This is it

I changed it some time ago but the problem turned out to be the servo. Since this is in good condition I thought I'd treat it to some new seals and keep it as a spare

I suppose then that yours is a Lucas. Mine is an AP Lockheed and looks like this:

Hans, is yours 13/16" bore (20.6mm)? If so, I reckon the seals are the same

No the seals are not the same. I bought a seal kit from Ebay that didn't fit, it was useless. The differences are minute though. I have to find it in the garage to see what's on the box if you're interested.

Yes please, Hans - no hurry though!
