Hello All,

I've just had an invoice from Harold for 10 pairs of headlight rings. I've pasted a copy below. Let me have your comments before I place the order! I've deleted his bank details for safety. The prices are quoted in GBP, I'm mainly interested in your comments on the price!

If that's £30 (ish) for a pair of 7" headlight mounts for a Mk 3, I don't suppose it's completely outrageous for something that's so difficult to source.
Is it too late to add another pair to the order? It's something I may never need, but I'd be willing to pay that to have a pair "just in case".

Indeed £31.54 is a good price for two headlight rings.

The order has not been placed as yet, but please remember there will be an additional for post and packing charge from me to you! This charge will just be whatever it costs me. But you ( David) could pick them up with your screen!

Hi Stuart,

No he has not given me a price for the smaller rings as I never asked for one!

But I must admit to being a little concerned as all he did was change the euro price to pounds, surely with the exchange rate they should be slightly cheaper! Some doubt has been cast as to the firms honesty, which can be offset if paying by credit card, but he wants me to pay by bank transfer, which is something I've never done! So I am a little concerned about paying for the whole lot, as it seems to be a little risky. Maybe I should do a small order first!
Does anyone have anything to add?

Indeed I could! On the subject of paying, did he suggest bank transfer as an option, or did he refuse to let you pay by credit card (which would be my preference as well)?

Hi Alan,
Are you sure he is talking about pounds? He doesn't mention it, just the amounts. Doesn't he mean euro's? In the email posted the price of the 5 3/4 was mentioned. It is about 1 euro more expensive than the 7 inch. Therefore I bought a pair on French Ebay, including shipment they cost me 22 euros for 2, although they have not yet arrived.

I know Paul Kyneston lives in Cardiff. Can't he check them out? The address is just a few miles out of Cardiff. Maybe even he can pay cash and walk away with a box and send them to you Alan.
Or are the mounting rings shipped from Belgium? In that case would it be possible for a Belgium member to check out the adress below?
