Mark 1 possible for sale!

Postby Alan D. » Wed Dec 08, 2010 7:23 pm

Hello all,

We meet an interesting chap last week, who is possible selling this Mk 1. He also has a Mini Marcos, an FRA bodied Mini (plastic Mini) of which he is fitting a Suzuki GTI engine. He also has a Mk4 Midas Coup. So he has too many projects, the Midas Mk 1 could be for sale at the right price!

He is also doing an interesting job on the Mk 4, He has taken a 1400cc K-Series block and fitted an 1100 crank, K-series V6 pistons, a VVC head and made a 1275cc K-series engine. this engine in standard form should rev to about 7200! For the gearbox he has used a PG1 ( one of the three K-series gearboxes) with the diesel gearing, which has 0.65 fifth gear and a 3.6 differential! So in theory, if he could pull maximum revs in fifth, he should be doing about 170-180 MPH (280-300 KM H, if my maths are correct).
