I had a collegue with a Lancia Fulvia that was parked outside the whole year. Everyone thinks rust, but his biggest problem was that he lived in a tree rich street so the birds were shitting on his car the whole day. He put a cover over it, but when he removed it, he found out that the cloth moving over the edges and corners during wind had chafed away the first layer of paint. On a gelcoat car I don't think that's a problem, but if you have a painted car beware. Check the inside of the cover and make sure it's supersmooth.
