Hi, I've already posted this on the Metro forum, hoping someone can help me here..
My Midas is based on a Mk2 Metro, I recently replaced the nearside front bearing with a taper roller set which within the space of a few weeks were wrecked. The hub in the past has come loose after I'd changed a CV boot and not managed to tighten it up properly.
Assuming I'd damaged the drive flange (the C washer came out in bits) I've replaced it with a brand new item, new washer and new bearings. The car has done maybe 50 miles and the bearing is groaning again and there is discernible play.
I'm now wondering if I need to replace the CV joint itself? Any ideas??
