We’ll disagree about the drivability but as far as I know this is is the first head gasket failure. As I never lifted the head I don’t know what was used but I assume it was a stock head gasket that might explain the blow through.

I'm planning to come over to help put up the marquee, attend the AGM and help take it down on the Monday. I'm out in the evening on Saturday so will have to leave about 1700, some food would be nice at the AGM

I've got the Rover 200 setup in my Gold Coupe and basically nothing gievs any accurate info other than perhaps the rev counter. I was thinking about having a hunt round for a Metro dash although I do have a pair of spare digi ones I could use but they would look a bit lost ...
