Re: Gold convertible rebuild Mk2
Darn what a rollercoaster story. I hope all goes well now and you find internal tranquility to focus on the rebuild. It was a beautiful car when you had finished it the first time. Concerning unassisted brakes, I removed the servo as well but kept the Metro master cylinder. It works fantastic, good ...

Installing front LED lights
I modified the front lights of my mk3 with LED lights. I installed LED lights in the existing Cibie beams, still have to find out if it passes the MOT this way. Plenty of light though and I like the 5000K color in favour of the 3000K yellowish color.

Re: Wipers
Could be friction in the system. That said it's a sort of black art. Mine have never worked as they should be. Disconnected the rods from the motor, felt okay with manual input.. Put a new motor in, result still the same. grrrr.

Re: Returning after 10 years
Welcome to the forum. Great stuff, those 2+2 are practical cars but very rare. GTM built only 20 or so. Good to get her on the road again.

Installing LED taillights
I was already for years fed up with the Opel Ascona (Cavalier) tail lights on my mk3 convertible. It's basically a timeless car, but the lights give it away. I wanted units that could be installed without body mods, for if a next owner wanted to install the originals again.
