Instrument panel

Post by axshack »

Hi all,
my MG instrument panel is showing signs of graceful degradation !!
I have no indication of fuel level (might be the sender though)
I have lost a segment of the digital clock.
and the odometer has occasional fits of not counting the distance covered when zeroised - a mechanical problem in the clock I suspect.

So generally, I think the time is fast approaching for me to sort it out;
I fancy a total revamp and was considering one of the electronic pods designed for motor bikes, that Car Builder solutions sell.

Has anybody tried this?
Alternatively, where can I get a replacement MG Metro instrument cluster ?

Cheers
Dave

I used one, easy enough to connect up, you just have to use the wiring diagram to pick the right wires. Had to be a little creative with the speed sender, using the rear hub in the end. Mine didn't have a fuel gauge option, so I still had to have a separate gauge.

Koso RX2N from Digital Speedos incidentally. There is a much broader range now..

Thinking about it, I may have a cluster knocking about, should be able to check through the week.

thanks for the input guys.

Definitely doing a lot of research on these whizzy motorbike instrument panels, especially if I can fit one inside the MG casing !!

The RX2 I used fits within the binnacle.
