5-speed gearbox fitting

I am in the process of fitting a Minisport (I think) 5-speed box to my Gold Convertible. Gear selection is stiff, not helped by a dragging clutch!! Does anybody know if a mod to the gear selector baseplate is required, and if so, what the mod is.

Torque values

On looking through the various workshop manuals, there appears there may be some variation between the torque required to instal say, a cylinder head stud in the block and the torque to tighten the nut on the cylinder head. Looking at the thread sizes, it appears that the stud torque may be about 75 ...
