Hi Max,
Just a question concerning the fit of the Specialist Components LCB. How far is it hanging under the car? Is it nice flush with the bottom or does is hang below that? Reason for me asking is that I had a discussion with Ed. He thinks it's wrong because it is designed for a Mini, not a Metro. He says the engine in a Mini is sitting higher, therefore the LCB for a Mini is longer. Hence if you install a Mini exhaust on a Metro/Midas it will go below the bottom of the car. Is this true or is there enough possibility in the exhaust adjustment to get it sorted?

Re: shiny new LCB
Hi Hans, it does sit slightly lower than the one I had before, but I don't find it a problem.
I'll try to take a photo tomorrow to show.

I am busy with the new Specialist Components exhaust. Nice piece of SS. I installed the engine last week and hooked up the LCB:

I had problems getting the correct flex joint, in the end went to a nearby metal shop who welded it directly to the Y-piece and on the other end an other bush specifically made for the Maniflow exhaust under my car:

All perfect. Went under the car in one go:

It's about 1 cm lower than a specific Metro exhaust, noticable at the gearbox bracket:

So all fine so I wanted to put the clamps on. Now it turns out there is not enough room on the Y piece for 2 clamps:

Anyone else had this problem? I've asked SC how to solve this. I was thinking of thinning the clamps with a grinder. I could try to force the legs out of the Y-piece but I am not sure this cause too much stres in the weld.

Re: shiny new LCB
Use a different clamp Hans. Mine has a stainless hose 'type' clamp which is a lot thinner and up to the job.

Thanks Stuart and David. Exactly the solution I needed. SC advised just to use brute force to get them in together. Didn't seem a good idea to me.
