Front shocks

The Protechs look really nice.
I´m trying to run the Midas as a daily driver and I´m hoping to take advantage of other models as the Classic Mini or for that matter the MGF, for parts. The Metro was not sold new in Sweden so parts are not available as in other Countries.
If the bottom mount of the front shock has a 3/8th of an inch in diameter this info is really important for me, thanks.

Any other info is surely welcome!

The lower mount is 3/8th of an inch, you can use the lower mounting pin from a Mini, they are the same.

If you are going to Protec you don't need a part number, just ask for a damper to the following specs.

13" open length, M27 upper mount and bottom mount is 3/8th hole diameter.

If you are looking for something more standard the KYB part number is 442017 as can currently be found on Ebay right now.

I've got bog-ordinary Metro dampers from Halfords. Nothing wrong with them!

hi , noticed in the above picture that you dont have dampers? or are they an after market one? ive poped mine and as theyre such a struggle to get replacements was looking for a new idea?

bassically what im asking is , is it possible to run with just a shock and no damper?

The terms shock and damper are interchangeable generally (if not technically).

You can run the standard Metro hydrolastic systems without a separate damper as they are internally damped. If you have converted to conventional coil springs you will need a separate damper.
