Front coil springs

I'm about to order a fornt scoil spring kit from Watsons Rally. Any advice?

I have the black road springs in mine and they are absolutely spot on for me.

get an extra pair of hands when you crow bar the springs in .

Grind a small shamfer to the outer edge of the locating ring and make sure you dont fit the bump stop rebound buffer until after you've fitted the spring assembly.

Plenty of grease/copper slip to help it in.

Other than that, no. I'm really happy with it.

The driver feel of the car is a quite different than on gas. Especially when you dont know how much fluid is actually in the hydrogas unit. If its all fluid and no gas, as the old chambers will probably be you will end up with rock hard suspension as the fluid has no where to go to in the top chamber.....one of the reasons you see cars having to be pumped up and no sign of the nuclear powered fluid leaking.

Adding a collar to the top of the tower before welding the top plate on would help. The A-series tower is shorter than the K-series one, and the Watsons kit is designed for the K-series frame.

Have you got a spare subframe to work on, or are you using the original Midas one?

Great thing is you can reverse the process and grind the top hat caps off. Doubt you will though once you've tried them.

Make sure you seam weld the top hat on on both sides...ie underneath as well as on top.
