Inner CVs, for info.

Post by manifold »

I have a little project going on with some new drive shafts...... to do with less unsprung weight and reciprocating mass.

Anyway I thought it an opportune time to do a bit more minifying on the Mk3's. Converting from metro to mini.

I wondered if mini inner CVs were same overall as the metro ones and it turns out they are. They look different, but the bits that matter, the interface to the diff splines and the interface to the drive shafts, and their relative overall lengths is just the same.

Cant see why they bothered to change the inner CV on the metro. Must have cost more to tool up.

Cheers,

David

Interesting, I had always thought they were the same, but had never compared them side by side, knew they were interchangeable though.
