Managed to get a reasonable amount done in the last week though forgot my camera again!! I've got the rear brakes assembled and bled though I'm not happy with the rear flexi hoses which look fine but I think have collapsed internally so are on the swap out list. At least now the hand brake is fully working rather than only partially working on one side it also works better with the Metro actuating levers fitted in the drums.
The new loom is now completely run and most of the changes made, using the '84-'90 Metro loom has simplified most of the changes as the engine loom is pretty much good to go as is. The only grotty task required is mounting the fuse/relay panel under the dash. For the heated front screen I've opted to lift the system from a Range Rover Classic/Discovery 1 it's pretty simple to build up and has the advantage of readily available OEM parts and a decent timer control system. Other than that it's just changing the wiper motor plug and the two speed Mini Mpi heater.
The dash is a bit of a challenge because when got the car first time around the dash was pretty wrecked and which I managed to work around in the process of fitting the MGF pod. It's not faired too well in the last ten years gaining more holes and water damage. I'm playing around with options at the moment but think I'm settled on the version below. Keeping half the previous skin panel covers the gaping holes in the original moulding the switches are Range Rover and the radio moulding is MGF. The plan is to cover the dash in Prussian blue and Lightstone beige vinyl to match the leather on the seats and the interior plastics which are a cross between Mini Mpi and Metro.
As with everything I could do with more time and money!!!
