Radius arm rebuild

As the title implies I've rebuilt my radius arm but I can't work out how the hell to keep the rubber seal on the outside of the radius arm to 'seal' between it and the subframe. On the inner side I've simply put the seal over the thrust washer so it's simple. Haven't done a radius arm for years so can't remember if I even had this problem last time. Any help appreciated if you can understand which part I'm talking about

What does the other side look like? Or have you got both sides stripped down?

Apart from that, I'm all out of ideas...

Had to do both as they were knackered. The old seals barely existed due to age and 1 had become more like a massive elastic band which probably lead to the bearings being knackered as I'm guessing the grease just shot out rather than working its way through the entire shaft

Beats me, I'm afraid. I also haven't touched a radius arm for decades, but from what I remember, the rubber ring sealed the grease in at both ends, in one way or another.
Hopefully someone else will have done the job more recently, and have a better idea of how it all goes together.

I had the same problem. I think it's because these kits have bad fitting seals or of the wrong material. I believe on 1 side I put a tiewrap around it, on the other side no problems but possibly because it was a better kit.

thanks for the help. May put them in a mug of boiling water to see if it gives them a bit more elasticity
