Re: MIDAS Bronze rear hatch gas struts
They can be bought from Gas Strut Engineering http://www.gasstrutengineering.co.uk/
The usual part number is 3065CC-130N, where the 130N is the force.
Some cars had different struts with weaker gas springs. I have seen as low as 80N. I guess that the force is really just a matter of choice, but don't go too high and risk damaging the glass.

Re: MIDAS Bronze rear hatch gas struts
Has anyone fitted gas struts to the bonnet?
If so, which ones?
My Gold coupe does not have a bonnet stay at all so am definitely in the market for one!

Re: MIDAS Bronze rear hatch gas struts
I have thought about it but don't see how strut clip could be fitted without drilling the bonnet, which I don't want to do? Anyway, bit of metal rod bent in the right places seems to do the trick at zero cost

Re: MIDAS Bronze rear hatch gas struts
Thinking about replacing one or both of my gas struts, I disconnected one from the glass, and was surprised to find that it was only screwed in about three turns. Is this normal? Mine has got spacers 10mm thick between the fitting and the glass.
