Okay, I'm back.
I have given a lot of thought to the beam issue and concluded that what is most needed for most of us road going mortals is an affordable, direct replacement, non-adjustable beam assembly. I have a contact in the world of light industry and we have concluded that a suitable product constructed using some stock material and laser cut cnc folded brackets all zinc passivated would be £185 + delivery + VAT.

Is anyone else interested?

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. I now have a replacement beam for my car. The original turned out to be in very poor shape especially at the outer ends. The new one is made from stock channel with laser cut and welded brackets all epoxy powder coated. I have just installed this today in 2 hours and when the radius arms are re-bushed, installed and re-plumbed it will be ready for MOT. I have parts for another 4 beams if anyone finds themselves in a similar predicament. The picasaweb album has been updated with several more pictures if you are interested. By the way, has anyone got a heater and a radiator fan switch? Cheers, Steve.

Thanks for the complimentary comments.
I decided to keep it simple to ensure it would be a reliable, long lasting component.
It weighs a lot more than the original but is made from thicker steel and was jig built to ensure accuracy.
When I feel like investigating alternative suspension angles it would be perfectly possible to re-engineer the outboard brackets.

Right, off we go again !
New beam, new front brakes, rebuilt radius arms, various gaiters, pipes, clips, nuts bolts and washers. Aiming for MOT on Friday and heading for Enstone on the 19th. Hoping that I might pick up a passenger window to stick a 'For Sale' sign to

All done ready for tomorrow's MOT. Can't get the brake pedal hard though It was a right faff to get it to start pumping but is doing now and I'm certain there's no more air in the lines. Any ideas?
