Red dot cones

Just wondering does anyone have experience of running red dot cones up front? I use on the mini(s) with good results but I'm starting to question their effectiveness on the Midas as it's lighter (all be it not much).

Any thoughts/experience would be appreciated.

I would be tempted to stick to new standard cones. i think the red dot will be too harsh and not complient enough for the lower weight.
