K series engine removal

Evening all.
Is it possible to life the engine and or box out the top of the engine bay?
Not too bothered if it's moreally involved as it will be much more work if I drop the sub frame as that will involve all that being changed as well etc etc.

So is it possible?

I believe that it is possible to remove the engine and box, but it means removing the subframe support members.
I have only ever tackled an engine change by dropping the subframe and that is easier on a Mk4 thanks to the simpler front structure.
