Hello all,

Just like to pass this idea to all Mk 3 owners, as some of you may need to renew your coilover attachment brackets. This is Roversports variation on the theme, so it must work.

It is much easier and cheaper to make and fit than the stub axles! I'm working on a Pimlico at the moment, but when I'm finished I might knock some sets up, out of interest, someone may need some!

Do you think thats up to the job of replacing a coil-over bracket for coilovers?

That one looks simple but it looks like its only picking up on 2 points, with hydrogas still in situ to support it.

I found this sometime ago and as far as I can remember Rover were attaching a coilover to this bracket, but I agree with you, it does look a bit weedy! You should know me by now. I try and over engineer everything, I suppose this comes from my background of building cranes lifting 400-500 tonnes! If I were to do an updated version, I would pick up all three backplate bolts and incorporate the handbrake fixing. The other thing I don't like about this idea is using a bolt to fix the coilover. I would prefer a stud with a Nylock nut, as this would give a more secure locking mechanism! My thoughts are that all Mk 3 owners will need something along these lines in the future, except of course titanium Mk 3 owners!

This is just a brainstorming idea, so everybody can chip in!

Another part of the rear end equation is this bracket to add Rover 200 rear disks to the Metro radius arm, more food for thought, we cannot afford to stand still!
