Need new tyres
Just got the Midas sorted, soon to be tested and roadlegal in Sweden. But, the tyres are old and hard, running 175*50*13 P7 up front and 008:s at the rear for the moment. What tyres would you guys recommend for a Midas?
Re: Need new tyres
I think you can use the late 13inch mini classic ones. Yokohamas.

So Yoko´s are the top option I guess? That was a good price also.

Has anyone tried this? It´s actually quite cheap here in Sweden: Dunlop SP SPORT 2000 175/50 R13 72V

Re: Need new tyres
Are these new tyres or old stock? Maybe worth checking the production date. I thought Dunlop stopped making these tyres years ago.

New one on the market here in Sweden: Continetal Continental SportContact 175/50 R13 72V
Any thoughts? Or experiences? It´s quite cheap.

As far as I'm aware they're a good tyre Ola, I think Hans's ran a set once, Alan has the 195/45 version on his convertible and likes them.
In this months EVO magazine the continental tyre came out top in a tyre test, out of ten brands, so I'd like to think their version of the tyre you want should be OK.
The motorhome guys don't rate Continental tyres though saying they crack inside the tread blocks allowing water in, this then delaminates the tyre causing some nasty failures.
Having said that I wouldn't hesitate putting them on the Midas, they have to be better than those old Pirelli P7's .
Edie, Just had a look round and see that both the 175 and 195 Continental are discontinued tyres, so the age of the tyres you're buying is something to think about.

Re: Need new tyres
It seems Yokohama 175/50 R13 are still produced. At the last Mini club day many traders were selling these. Peter Camping bought them and said they were fine (but he has only used them during this summer). My Bridgestones are now quite old, getting hard with cracks in the side walls, so I think I buy them as well.
