Multimeter

Post by Geoff Butcher »

Can anyone recommend a decent multimeter for car - type use for reasonable money, say up to around £40? My crummy Draper thinks my battery puts out over 16 volts with the engine off, which may be part of the reason it's just taken me most of the day to make my horns work.

I wouldn't think you need to pay anything like £40 to get a decent basic multimeter. My last one came from Machine Mart and cost less than a tenner. And if you do decide to shop there, there should be a VAT-free shopping day or two coming up in about a week - I believe my local one (Dundee) is next weekend, they may differ from store to store.
