Ultrasonic Cleaner

Post by DavidL »

A friend in Devon just bought one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/professional-ul ... 0-h-261248 and I couldn't resist buying one too.

I think it would be possible to get an HIF SU into it but haven't tried yet so don't take my word for it. Having said that, they also sell cheaper (=smaller) versions too.

Looks interesting, but what we really need are some before and after shots of bits and pieces you've cleaned in it ;) so it also uses just water?

It's still in its box, I'm ashamed to say. However Maplins also sell bottles of cleaning solution for use with it. My friend has used it on various BMW carburettors and fiddly bits and thinks it does a reasonable job, but no photos yet. Once I've caught up with other more pressing tasks I'll try it out, I have plenty of stuff in the garage I can use as test subjects...
