Seats for a Mk2

Post by Stairheedrammy »

I have been offered a set of MGTF seats in Black and red leather for a reasonable price- but thought I really need to check whether anyone has successfully fitted these seats before I part with my cash
thanks

Stuart- if you read Mike's post properly you will see that he says he fitted MG seats- finding them a tight fit- and only used them for a short drive- up and down his drive- read my post carefully- and it asks if anyone has fitted them successfully- i.e actually driven round in them- I'd rather make sure before parting with £100 quid for a set of seats that might not really fit. Thanks for your help though ;)

You're quite right, although having said that Mike has successfully fitted them.

For what it's worth I think they look a bit too chunky for a mk2 myself, how tall are you?

I'd be inclined to go for the MX-5 seats - they are quite slim and the MGF seats do look rather wide in comparison. Can you live without leather? If so, go MX-5.

However, if you've got the time, I'd go to the local scrappy armed with a tape measure first of all - you may find something really useful from an unlikely source :)

I agree.

You can always get a recovering kit to match the rest of your interior later.
