How Low can I go?.....

Post by Dewsnap Mk1 »

Hey All,

During the rebuild of the mk1, I want to make it sit low , with the wheels sitting in the arches, so that they fill them up, rather than sit above them as they do now.

My plan is to fit some Avo lowered coil overs, but will these be enough? Are they're any alternatives to make it sit low. Its my dads 3rd car, so practicality isnt a problem, aesthetics is key with this rebuild.
I have adjustarides for the front waiting :) Any help would me much appreciated.

How high it sits at the moment

The sort of look I want, with the wheels to fill the arches ( this is just about practical for me)

Thanks in Advance

Sam

I've got lowered dampers on my car, this shows them compared to Standard length GAZ dampers

No I bought them seperately, I think they're either 100lb or 110lb springs

There are a few threads on the subject I think http://midasforum.dyndns.org/forum/view ... p?f=52&t=9

Alan put a lot of effort into this one http://midasforum.dyndns.org/forum/view ... =41&t=1015

Yes they were all the same Sam, mine was just like that. If the dampers are OK a pair of those run-flat springs and shorter springs will have the desired effect.

I still need to get these sorted, found a pic of when my Dad first got it, and the height it perfect, shame the original springs snapped..... lol
